What We Do
Over one billion people live in remote and rural areas in Africa and Asia.
They lack access to life-saving news and information. First Voice International can change that. We can reach millions of the most isolated and underserved... FVI transmits many channels of high-quality audio and data programming all day and every day in Africa, Asia and the Pacific. This gives us the unmatched ability to serve up life-saving news and information to over a billion of the most isolated people in Africa and Asia. We sit down with community groups, government outreach workers and international organizations who want to boost the reach and impact of their existing relief and development efforts - and reach the most people possible, in the most isolated communities. We then put together a customized communications strategy to allow you to reach rural, remote, cross-border and large geographic areas - combining existing systems and technologies with new ones where necessary. By combining multiple Information Communication Technologies (ICTs), including satellite radio, AM/FM radio, Very Small Aperature Terminal (VSAT), High Frequency (HF) email, mobile phones, alternative energy, and ruggedized computer systems, FVI will ensure you have the most efficient, cost-effective and sustainable system for communication. Then, FVI installs the new communications system and trains you to use it - thus building local capacity and ensuring sustainability. To find out how communities are getting using their new communication system and the new information they now receive, visit our projects. |
