FVI provides an information lifeline targeting remote populations who do not have access to sources of information that are taken for granted in developed countries such as newspapers, television, FM radio and the internet. FVI provides a cross sector ICT platform to address humanitarian issues on a continental scale in Africa and Asia for rural, nomadic and pastoral communities that are often the last to know about changes that affect their livelihoods. Remote communities the world over routinely find themselves the last to know about major weather occurrences, and are likely to be the first and longest to be devastated.

These communities aren't unaware by choice. They simply don't have access to the information the rest of us take for granted, 24/7.

First Voice International addresses all the missing pieces and creates access to vital information for those who need it the most whether they be survivors of natural disasters, desert dwellers of the Sahara, or remote communities in the mountains of Ethiopia and Nepal, the jungles of Southeast Asia, or on the Pacific Islands.

First Voice International (FVI) invites foundations and individual major donors to underwrite audio broadcast programming. Sponsorships are currently available on the Africa Learning Channel and will also be available soon on FVI's two audio channels in Asia – the South Asia Development Channel and the Asia-Pacific Development Channel.

Sponsorships may be designated to some specific programs on the Africa Learning Channel broadcasting schedule on some of the overarching themes:

• Health and awareness/prevention of global infectious diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Malaria and TB
• Women's rights and issues
• Children's rights and protection
• Conflict resolution
• Energy, environment and natural resources
• Food security, agriculture and rural development
• Livelihood (employment and micro enterprise)
• Governance and civil society
• Literacy and numeracy

FVI programs are broadcast across Africa and Asia and are heard by thousands of NGO-organized listening groups. They are also heard by millions on AM/FM rebroadcasts by over 200 community radio stations. Sponsorships will also be available soon on FVI's two audio channels in Asia – the South Asia Development Channel and the Asia-Pacific Development Channel. The multimedia channel is available on all three beams of the AsiaStar™ satellite, reaching Sri Lanka, Indonesia and remote islands in the Pacific as well as other Asian countries.

Deeply Discounted Bandwidth

First Voice International is also happy to provide bandwidth at only one-third to one-sixth of commercial rates for new audio and multi-media programming to donor and NGO use for humanitarian relief and development purposes on both its Africa and Asia channels. Rates and terms are available upon request.

15-minute program $2,500/year
30-minute program $5,000/year
1-hour program $10,000/year
Thematic series (except HIV/AIDS) $25,000/year
Extended HIV/AIDS series $50,000/year
Sponsors receive on-air acknowledgment of their financial support.

Donor options that FVI can work with include, but are not limited to:

1. Supporting the cost of bandwidth in grants
2. Buying a block of bandwidth and making it available to grantees
3. Buying bandwidth for the donor's own use (such as for disseminating results, best practices and grant program announcements)
